THE
plants sway gently in the breeze. Easing back into
the cushioned wicker chair, you wait for a scrumptious
dinner under the starlit sky. Leaving the day’s
stress behind, you enjoy the good company and conversation
as a plate of steaming food is placed on the softly
lit table. A great way to have dinner, isn’t
it ? what, then, are waiting for ? Head for Aadhar
restaurant at Iscon Arcade on C.G.Road.
Open from11 am to 11 pm, Aadhar offers you a variety
of snacks. From dudhi muthiya to badshahi khichadi
and from bajri wada to patra, you’ll find
everything here. You can also try the bajri, makai
rotlas or sink your teeth into the nariyal kothmir
patties. For those who do not want the traditional
fare, the restaurant also offers baked cannelloni
and pizza apart from the usual range of sandwiches
and ice-creams.
If you need something substantial to hush up the
hunger pangs, you are heading in the right direction.
On offer from noon to 3 pm is the swad thali (Rs
109 plus tax). With snack, sharbat, roti, subzis,
dal, rice, and ice-creams, these platters are more
than enough to fill any stomach. The offer is also
available in the evening as mahaprasad thali (Rs
235 plus tax) with more than 21 items in the menu.
You can also dine here every day as the thali menu
changes daily.
Those who do not want to follow the fixed menu can
always eat a la carte. And ,there ‘s no need
to rush through the meal. The traditionally attired
waiter ensure that your meal is a fine experience
in dinning. “ We want our guests to relax
and linger over their meal. Only then can they truly
enjoy their food. As our menu states atithi deco
bhava, and then, we refuse to rush our guests,”
says Govind patel of Aadhar. Patel, who was part
owner of Rajwadu, earlier worked at Agashiye and
Vishala before opening this roof-top restaurant.

dinner or just spend a rainy afternoon eating snacks
and enjoying greenery, you know where to go.
